note the open work on the skirt. - openwork is created by couching lace
threads to pattern then embroidering over them in buttonhole stitch. Solid
buttonhole stitch is created by feeding the thread through an already created
buttonhole stitch and embroidering another buttonhole stitch - similar to
how one makes a chain of buttonhole stitches. |
